THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST BOHEMIA LAUNCHES NUCLEAR DAYS 2024
On September 12-13, the University of West Bohemia will host the International Conference “Nuclear Power – Europe’s Carbon-Free Future” in the framework of the annual program “Nuclear Days 2024”. The conference will be held with the support of the Rector of the University of West Bohemia, Professor Miroslav Lávička, Ph.D., Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Jozef Síkela, President of the Engineering Academy of the Czech Republic, Dr. Vojtěch Petráček.
The annual program “Nuclear Days 2024” has been organized by the University of West Bohemia for fourteen years in a row. This year it will last for a month, from September 12 to October 10. The program will include a competition of student posters on nuclear topics, presentations for colleges and high schools, and expert lectures. The event will also include an exhibition of nuclear devices at the University of West Bohemia.
At the Nuclear Days 2024 competition, students, including those from Ukraine, will be able to present their bachelor’s, master’s or dissertation work in the field of nuclear energy.
All submitted posters and research will be divided into three categories: bachelor’s theses, master’s theses and PhD theses.
The posters in each category will be evaluated by an expert commission consisting of academic and non-academic experts in the field of nuclear energy, who will select the three best papers in each section. The authors of these works will receive a financial reward (1st place – 600 euros; 2nd place – 400 euros; 3rd place – 300 euros).
