ENERGY SAFETY GROUP TOOK PART IN THE CONFERENCE “PROBLEMS OF MODERN NUCLEAR ENERGY”
From April 17 to 19, the conference “Problems of Modern Nuclear Energy” brought together energy industry experts in Kharkiv. ENERGY SAFETY GROUP specialists took part both offline and online. Oleksandr Mazurok, Technical Director of the company and Member of the Board of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrNS), became a co-author of the presented reports “Cooling of control rods and specification of crucial temperatures for justification of safe operation” and “Science analysis of RCCA structural materials and calculations for lifetime extension.”
In their presentations, the experts raised issues related to the development of the nuclear energy complex of Ukraine, improvement of safety and efficiency of NPP operation, lifetime extension of power units and ageing management of NPP equipment, nuclear, radiation and environmental safety in the handling of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel, as well as problems of thermonuclear fusion and public outreach about the nuclear industry.
The V.M. Voevodin International Scientific and Technical Conference has been organized by the Public Organization “Ukrainian Nuclear Society”, the National Scientific Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
