Hand-over tests of a battery cabinet for standby diesel generator power stations of the South Ukraine NPP carried out
Hand-over tests of a battery cabinet for standby diesel generator power stations were carried out at the sites of the product manufacturer – ES Group in the cities of Pilsen (Czech Republic) and Kyiv (Ukraine) at the end of May.
Based on the results of work of the acceptance commission, which consisted of representatives of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, Directorate of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom”, South Ukraine NPP and ES Group Europe, it was concluded that the equipment fully meets the requirements of the technical specification, as well as the requirements of codes and standards for nuclear and radiation safety of Ukraine, and can be applied in the safety systems of the South Ukraine NPP.
The equipment is a safety element and is classified by its intended purpose as a supporting safety component. The cabinets, together with other equipment, are designed to provide reliable uninterrupted power supply to consumers of automatic control systems of standby diesel generator power stations of South Ukraine NPP power unit 1 in all operating modes.
